Athina Parson

My name is Athina, I started riding drill in April of 1994, and the thrill and enjoyment of doing a great performance hasn't changed.

Buddy is an eight year old running quarter horse. I purchased him in the spring of 1994 when he was 5 months old. He has been doing drill for two years now. Working with Buddy has been a real challenge at times, but I think that he's starting to get the hang of drill. Parades, performances, P.N.E., and rodeos. What a lot of work! I think that Buddy prefers to hang out in the field with his pals Molly and Ginger or go trail riding; it's less work and a little more relaxing (or rather it's less work for me!).

It's been a pleasure to meet and work with a lot of different people over the years, especially the dedicated coaches and ground crew; those people who you don't necessarily see perform, but are there to coach, or help out at parades and performances, or just plain be there to cheer us on. People who have given over the years yet never expected anything in return!

Not to mention of course working with horses such as Shylo, Sophie, my little drill mare of five years, Calypso, and Ginger. Without horses we'd have no drill team.

Keep up the good work team! We've come a long way gals, and the best is yet to come!
